AOC Rips Crenshaw For Criticizing Omar's 9/11 Comments

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

In an interview Sunday with the Yahoo News podcast "Skullduggery", the New York Democrat said she suspended her personal Facebook account and was scaling back on all social media, which she described as a "public health risk" because it can lead to "increased isolation, depression, anxiety, addiction, escapism". "We do talk with students and offer numerous opportunities to explore issues of dialogue and professionalism in curricula and experiential learning opportunities".

Crenshaw's most recent digs at Omar stemmed from her speech last month before the Council on American Islamic Relations in Los Angeles. "For our colleagues to be silent is to be complicit in the outright, unsafe targeting of a member of Congress". Say she didn't mean it ... diffuse the situation, but don't double down, alright? "And I think that-and I also acknowledge my role in in this as well in that I hope to play a facilitating role in this conversation and a supportive role in this conversation, but I also know there are people that have been leading on this for a long time like Congresswoman McCollum".

Ocasio-Cortez joins other prominent users who have given up on the social network, including WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton, who sold his company to Facebook in 2014, and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

"It's terrorists who killed nearly 3,000 Americans, and we should talk about it that way", Crenshaw told NBC News on Friday. "Why don't you go do something about that?"

It's not the first time Ocasio-Cortez has said as much.

Democrats set new deadline on Trump tax returns
President Donald Trump confirmed the existence of the proposal Friday, saying that it should make "The Radical Left" happy. The IRS says there is no pronouncement against concerns of an audit from publicly liberating their tax filings.

"It was not taken out of context, by the way, there are a lot of claims that it was - of course it wasn't".

"I think so", Ocasio-Cortez responded. "I don't think it's out of line to simply call that out and criticize it".

He called it the "height of partisanship" that both sides can't come together and agree that it was improper to "diminish" the attack on US soil. "That's not what happened and we should come together and take note of that".

"AOC implying [Dan Crenshaw], who served combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan (where he lost an EYE) in the wake of 9/11, hasn't done enough for the victims of September 11 terrorist attack is astounding, though not shocking", said Natalie Johnson.

"I am questioning how any American, let alone a United States Congresswoman, could downplay the 9/11 attacks", the Fox News host later tweeted. "I want to go forward".
