Matt Gaetz Uses Weird, Inaccurate Fishing Metaphor for Robert Mueller

House Votes Unanimously in Favor of Publicizing Mueller Report

The US House of Representatives, now Democrat controlled, voted unanimously Thursday for a resolution calling for any final report in special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation to be made public, a symbolic action created to pressure Attorney General William Barr into releasing as much information as possible when the probe is concluded.

A bid by the Senate's top Democrat, Chuck Schumer, to have the resolution approved by voice vote after the House's action was thwarted by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.

The measure seeks to ramp up pressure before the conclusion of the investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion between Trump associates and Russian Federation.

The Senate is not obligated to vote on this or any similar resolution, and under Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, is all but certain to not.

The vote came as expectations rise that Mueller is near to bringing to a close a almost two-year-old investigation that has focused on whether Trump's 2016 campaign colluded with the Russians.

The vote comes amid more signs that Mueller's team is winding down its investigation.

A resolution urging release passed on a 420-0 vote, with four lawmakers answering "present".

"This resolution is critical because of the many questions and criticisms of the investigation raised by the president and his administration", said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler.

Wellington parent Alex, who marched beside his 11-year-old son, disagreed: "It's a much better day of education". Yes we are failing but there is still time to turn everything around we can still fix this.

At his Senate confirmation hearing in February, Barr was asked about sharing Mueller's report upon its completion.

Andrew Weissmann, who orchestrated the prosecution of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, will leave the team "in the near future", Mueller spokesman Peter Carr said, confirming earlier media reports. "We have no reason to think Attorney General Barr would back away from those statements", Collins said. Whether or not Mueller is close to finishing the probe is unclear, but several individuals close to Trump have been indicted and convicted for crimes uncovered during the course of the investigation.

No date has been mentioned for the Mueller report's release.

It will ultimately be up to the attorney General as to whether the report is released to the public, and how much of it is withheld.

In February, six House Democratic committee chairs, led by Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler of NY, made a similar request in a letter to Barr.

Nadler and other House Democrats vowed to subpoena the full report if Barr only provides them with minimal details.

"Andrew has been involved with NYU Law in the past and we have been talking with him about returning to the Law School following his current commitments", Orey said.
