Serge Ibaka, Marquese Chriss Both Suspended For In-Game Fight

NBA NBA suspends Raptors’ Serge Ibaka three games

That was connected to the wild fight at the end of the third quarter involving the Cavaliers' Marquese Chriss and the Raptors' Serge Ibaka.

The Cavaliers ultimately upset the Raptors 126-101.

Even if Chriss was viewed as the instigator, Vandeweghe would be forced to look at Ibaka's antecedents and make his ruling based on his prior history of conflict.

Ibaka and Chriss both went for the ball following a full-court pass as they tried to beat the buzzer to end the quarter.

The fight occurred with 0:01 remaining in the third quarter on Monday night.

Led by Kawhi Leonard, the Raptors are confident of going all the way in the east and then maybe even uprooting the Warriors when it comes to the National Basketball Association finals (if the Warriors make it this time).

The Raptors, showing signs of being exhausted in their third straight road game, struggled throughout the contest.

The victory by the Cavaliers improved their season record to 17-50, with their next contest scheduled for Tuesday night in Philadelphia. Granted, as some alluded to postgame, the Raptors were in the second game of a back-to-back, but a 25-point W for the Cavs?

Raptors: G Fred Van Vleet (ligament tear in left thumb) missed his 11th straight game. F Larry Nance Jr. Ibaka wasn't happy at all about the apparent stare down and maybe some words from Chriss because he quickly got up and got a hand around Chriss' throat.

"We certainly don't want that in the game", said Toronto's head coach Nick Nurse following the loss, according to TSN's Josh Lewenberg. "We don't want to lose one of our guys". "It's going to cost him a game, probably..."
