Jan-Michael Vincent, 'Airwolf' Star, Dies at 74

Jan-Michael Vincent had battled health and personal problems over the years and retired from acting in 2009

According to a death certificate from a North Carolina hospital published by TMZ on Friday, the actor passed away on February 10 after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Vincent's career waned after his Airwolf heyday and he retired from acting in 2009.

In addition to Airwolf, Vincent appeared in a number of other TV series, such as Police Story, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and Nash Bridges.

Jan-Michael Vincent, star of the big and small screen, has died at the age of 74. He appeared in TV and movies throughout the 60s, 70s, including roles in series like Lassie and Dragnet.

His last credit was in the 2002 movie White Boy.

Despite being one of the highest-paid actors on television at the time, his career soon began its downward spiral in the late 1980s as Vincent's off-camera battle with cocaine and alcohol abuse played out in the public arena.

Vincent and "Airwolf" co-star Jean Bruce Scott. Vincent had fought a high-profile battle with substance abuse for many years, survived two serious auto wrecks, and in 2012 lost a leg to peripheral artery disease.

In 2000, he was forced to pay more than $350,000 as part of a default judgment made against him when his former girlfriend accused him of physical assault that caused her to miscarry their child.

He was married at least twice and had a daughter with his first wife.
