Tiger Woods plays down back injury fears after Arnold Palmer Invitational withdrawal

2019 Tiger Woods Props Yes to win Major +300

Tiger Woods has announced that he's withdrawing from the Arnold Palmer Invitational later this week.

Woods had to withdraw from the tournament unfortunately due to a neck strain which he has classified as not too serious, but something he wanted to avoid stressing at the start of the season.

Woods has played three times in 2019, citing no injury issues during starts at the Farmers Insurance Open, Genesis Open and WGC-Mexico Championship, where he tied for 10th on February 24.

"My No. 1 job is to captain that team and do that the right way, but then I want to be able to come out here and play", he said.

Day said he hoped to be ready to play next week's Players Championship, which he won in 2016.

The 31-year-old walked off the course after playing his second shot on the 16th hole after teeing off on the back nine at Bay Hill Club in Orlando, Florida.

Flashback: Brie Larson Thought Captain Marvel Was a Man - She Wasn't Wrong
She exudes the look of an actor who takes the part seriously, but any nuance is suppressed by that action-hero straitjacket. The villainous Skrull have an agenda of their own, and they can also shape-shift into a mirror image of anyone they see.

"I'd like to send my regrets to the Palmer family and the Orlando fans", wrote Woods.

Other big names in the field this week include the return the Justin Rose, and other recent Arnold Palmer Invitational champions such as Jason Day and Marc Leishman.

The Players Championship will start on March 14th, and now, bookmakers are yet to change any odds after Woods injury. Woods, who uses the Palmer tournament as a Masters tuneup, took pains to remind readers that his back, on which he has had four surgeries (including spinal fusion surgery two years ago next month), is fine.

Woods is expected by many to compete for majors this year. Woods is a two-time victor of the tournament, with his last title coming in 2013.

The Players Championship begins on March 14, and the golf world is back in the familiar position of waiting and wondering whether Woods will make it.
