Trump pushes back on intelligence assessment of North Korea

The Republican and Democratic leaders of the intelligence committee defended the officials. "Iran is a big threat, and I think I did the right thing when I terminated the ridiculous Iran deal", the president said.

Donald Trump has hit out at Director of Intelligence Dan Coats after his testimony at Capitol Hill on Tuesday.

And, as might be expected, Trump made no mention of Russian Federation and its crimes against the United States. What's really happening out there?

With Trump known both for his impulsiveness and his criticism of United States defense alliances, observers have wondered whether the almost seven-decade USA troop presence could up for debate.

Trump asserted after the Singapore summit that North Korea no longer poses a nuclear threat.

"When we say we will not lift sanctions until denuclearization is complete - that is correct - we didn't say we won't do anything until you do everything", he said.

In his most detailed public remarks on his approach to North Korea after five months in his role, Mr Biegun said the U.S. had told the North it was prepared to pursue commitments made in Singapore "simultaneously and in parallel" and had already eased rules on delivery of humanitarian aid to it.

Several national security officials told CNN that while they don't like the President's latest attacks on the intelligence community, they're not paying much notice. The US wants Pyongyang to be more forthcoming about its nuclear weapons.

Pelosi said Trump's comments were "stunning". We're done. We did it. However, Coats and other intelligence officials made clear they see it differently. Other countries have also said, yeah, that's not the case. What the hell are you talking about, Mr Trump.

Chelsea boss Sarri again questions players after defeat
Sarri is facing growing questions about his tactics and motivational ability just half-way through his first season in charge. Sarri accused the Belgian of playing however he wanted to on the pitch, not in the way set out by the manager.

Um, nonetheless, Donald Trump has no idea what is actually happening around the globe.

They were initially expected to meet in the border truce village of Panmunjom, but instead they settled on Pyongyang since that will speed things up now only four weeks remain until the summit. Trump didn't fix that, but he tells us he did the situation in Syria.

The intelligence assessment, which is provided annually to Congress, made no mention of a crisis at the U.S. -Mexico border, which Trump has asserted as the basis for his demand that Congress finance a border wall. Trump has ordered a partial pullback of US forces this year, although no firm plan is in place. None of this is working, but what's even scarier is the fact that we have a president who doesn't understand that he is losing. "We're doing very well".

What the nuclear diplomacy with both Iran and North Korea shows is the limits of arms-control negotiations with rogue states.

I'm all for keeping all options on the table, not militarily, but humanitarian.

The United States has said repeatedly that sanctions will stay in place until denuclearization is complete, although it has held open the option of taking other confidence-building measures, including potential security guarantees.

"I am absolutely convinced, and more importantly the President of the United States is convinced, that it's time to move past 70 years of war and hostility in the Korean Peninsula".

Trump told reporters at the Oval Office on Thursday that he was making "tremendous progress" with North Korea. Get rid of yours. One last shot at me. That's not how it's ever going to work.
