Attorneys for suspect in Closs case 'relying on integrity of judicial system'

Jayme Closs has been missing since October

A 21-year-old man, identified as Jake Thomas Patterson, was arrested shortly after Closs was found Thursday.

A suspect was arrested and taken into custody 11 minutes later, police said.

The news that Jayme was safe set off joy and relief in her hometown of Barron, population 3,300 and about 60 miles (100 kilometres) from where she was found.

"My legs started to shake".

Patterson had worked for less than two days at a turkey processing plant where Closs' parents worked, but the sheriff said he did not have any contact with them.

He says she has already met with an aunt and will be reunited with her other relatives on Friday night.

A man has been charged with kidnapping a 13-year-old girl and murdering her parents in Wisconsin three months ago.

"It was literally like we were seeing a ghost, because we have seen the billboards and the commercials and all that stuff, and there she is in my kitchen, you know", Kasinskas told CBS News.

She brought Jayme to the home of neighbours Kristin and Peter Kasinskas, as it was farther away from where she found the teenager. It came just minutes after Jayme escaped her captor in a remote small-town area of northwest Wisconsin.

Fitzgerald said there is no evidence Patterson knew Jayme or her family or had been in contact with her on social media. "We don't believe he ... talked with them, had any digital footprint with them".

"It appears he concealed her from other people. his friends", Fitzgerald said.

It's believed that Jayme was held captive at that same remote woodland cabin after her abduction in October from her family home in Barron.

National champion Clemson preseason favorite already for next season
Alabama's head coach, whose press conference rants often go viral, appeared much more appreciative than usual on Monday night. Justyn Ross caught six balls for 153 yards and a score for Clemson, which shut out 'Bama after leading 31-16 at the half.

Naiberg, Jayme's grandfather, said he spent a few hours with her on Friday.

They said they are awaiting the filing of charges on Monday, when Patterson is due to make his initial court appearance in Barron County.

Patterson, who was unemployed, remained largely an enigma Saturday. Jayme's grandfather Robert Naiberg said in a telephone interview Saturday that the only thing the family knows for sure is no one knew Patterson.

"What a great feeling to have her home".

The Barron County sheriff's office said Closs was found Thursday afternoon in Gordon, a northwest Wisconsin town about 65 miles north of where she went missing from her home in Barron.

Multiple guns were recovered during the search warrant at the residence; including one shotgun that Sheriff Fitzgerald confirmed is consistent with the type of shotgun used at the Closs residence on the night that Jayme's parents were killed.

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald says Patterson extensively plotted the attack to the point where he shaved his head to avoid leaving forensic evidence behind. Property records show that the cabin belonged to Patterson's father. They say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the case. Patterson quit, saying he was moving from the area, Lykken said.

Kasinskas, who teaches middle and high school science, said Patterson had been a student when he was 12 or 13 years old.

"She just yelled please help me I don't know where I am". "I don't recall anything that would have explained this, by any means".

The girl told Jeanne Nutter, "I'm lost, and I don't know where I am, and I need help". She had been placed on the FBI's Missing Person's list on October 15 and was considered "endangered".

Kasinskas said Jayme told the couple Patterson would sometimes have people over to the cabin during the time she was being held, but would hide her from them.

Over the past few months, detectives pursued thousands of tips, watched dozens of surveillance videos and conducted numerous searches for Jayme, including one that drew 2,000 volunteers but yielded no clues. It's just a great result we got tonight. "God has answered those prayers".
