U.S. Customs and Border Protection, officers block the Otay Mesa port of entry from Mexico into the United States early

Officials say one Border Patrol agent was hospitalized after multiple agents were assaulted by illegal immigrants near Tucson.

An advocate for USA border enforcement says we can be thankful President Donald Trump's border enforcement policies are keeping thousands of migrants stuck in Mexico.

Homeland Security says it has identified 600 identified criminals within the caravan.

Mayor Juan Manuel Gastélum declared the migrant caravan a "humanitarian crisis" earlier this week, but he's now saying it's too much on the city, according to an exclusive with Fox News. "They're having some serious issues with those people so thank God that President Trump has done what he's done to keep them on the other side of the border".

The Border Patrol office in San Diego said via Twitter that pedestrian crossings have been suspended at the San Ysidro port of entry at both the East and West facilities.

They appeared to easily pass through the Mexican police blockade without using violence.

US authorities say assailants threw a "hail of rocks" at Border Patrol agents in the Sunday chaos that erupted during a protest against USA asylum laws, striking four who escaped serious injury. Charges were not filed because the administration generally doesn't separate families and because Customs and Border Protection didn't collect enough evidence to build cases, including the names of arresting officers, according to a USA official familiar with the matter who was not authorized to discuss it publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

"The truth is that we were told that if we didn't go to the caravan, then we were not with them, and you know, since we departed from Honduras, we came in a caravan", she told the Epoch Times.

US authorities are working on a new system to better record evidence if similar circumstances arise, the official said.

Nearly all of them want asylum in the United States.

After walking and hitch-hiking more than 4,000 kilometers (2,500 miles) to the United States southern border, some 500 migrants tried to breach it on Sunday.
