Trump Wanted DOJ To Prosecute James Comey And Hillary Clinton

Trump reportedly wanted to order prosecutions of Hillary Clinton, Comey

He said: "This is what had him anxious then".

Tuesday, the New York Times reported that Trump asked former White House counsel Don McGahn to file charges against former secretary of state Hillary Clinton and former Federal Bureau of Investigation directory James Comey earlier this year.

Had President Donald Trump been successful in launching prosecutions against Hillary Clinton and James Comey, it could have spelled the end of his presidency, as a clear-cut abuse of power.

In January, CNN reported that the Arkansas attorney and FBI were investigating possible corruption within the Clinton Foundation.

Committee Ranking Member Elijah Cummings, D-Md., who is expected to become the chairman of the committee in January, said Tuesday he also wants more information about Trump's use of personal email.

In August, the New York Times reported that White House Counsel Don McGahn was cooperating "extensively" in the Robert Mueller probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Kelemete and Fulton have both been listed on the team's official injury report and played banged up in the past. Watt and Kareem Jackson and remained down on the ground in visible pain.

"My sense is this president often says things that reflect frustration and maybe a little bit of desperation, but nothing really comes of it", he said.

Mr McGahn, however, warned the president against the action, and stated that he had no authority to order such a prosecution. Trump's alleged directive to prosecute political rivals Hillary Clinton and James Comey could have "very, very serious" consequences, said a former attorney general for President George W. Bush.

However, in the United States today, if someone does not like another person for political reasons, there's a call to "go after them, 'lock her up, ' impeach".

Mr McGahn left the White House in October amid frictions with the President.

During his campaign, Trump said that he would have the Justice Department investigate Mrs Clinton, but has repeatedly criticised the department for investigating his associates rather than political opponents.

Following the firing of Mr Sessions this month, Mr Whitaker was chosen to work as acting attorney general over Mr Rosenstein.
