States’ early turnout setting records ahead of Election Day

Abrams has repeatedly accused Kemp of suppressing voter rights to boost his own chance of winning

Voters are also being reminded that some city and town clerks' offices close early on Friday.

The high number of contests in the November 6 election means San Diego County voters will be getting a two-card ballot, with races listed on the front and back of each card.

They can send in their ballot by mail, drop it off at the Registrar of Voters Office in Kearny Mesa or drop it off at any one of 59 additional sites throughout the county before Election Day.

In Mecklenburg County, Michael Dickerson, director of the Board of Elections expects the early voting numbers to double 2014's by Saturday. Voters which have registered in the county total 1,756.

Voters can still request an absentee ballot for the general election by submitting an application directly with the county clerk through today. Additionally, more than 1.8 million people have voted by mail. "Under state law, ballots received after the 7 p.m. Election Day deadline can not be counted". Notices were mailed to each affected voter, but those who voted in past elections at the following precincts especially need to check their voting location before election day: "Belfield, Brownsville, Cale, Crozet, Free Bridge, and University Hall". With such similar numbers, the small gap could simply be a swing towards voting on election day.

In terms of turnout of registered voters, though, Democrats were outperforming the GOP with 40.5 percent turnout compared to 39 percent of Republican voters. About half of those new voters were newly registered.

You do not have to bring your voter registration certificate with you to the polls, but a photo ID is now required to vote in-person in Texas. If that held through Election Day, it would be a huge number.

Both Registrars also encourage voters to check their voter registration and polling place before the election.

While a government-issued photo ID is not required to vote under IL law, it can be helpful to bring one should any questions about registration, address, signature, or more arise during the voting process.

That said, at least in Georgia, the racial and gender breakdown of the new voters bodes well for Abrams, who is trying to spike turnout among nonwhites, women and millennials.
