Titans were too late on WR Demaryius Thomas

Texans Bill O'Brien's parting words still sting Broncos QB Case Keenum

As the NFL's 4 p.m. trade deadline approached on Tuesday, the Broncos got things started by trading wide receiver Demaryius Thomas to the Houston Texans. It's a relatively low-priced deal for a first-place Houston team that's dealing with injuries at receiver.

Sanders has been enjoying his second-best season as a Broncos player this year; with 606 yards and three touchdowns through eight games.

Thomas has played his entire nine-year National Football League career with the Broncos, and the unusual part about this upcoming Week 9 game for Thomas is the Texans will be playing at Denver for his first game with Houston.

Thomas will line up opposite star DeAndre Hopkins, a potentially deadly combination for Watson and the 5-3, AFC South-leading Texans.

He also expressed anger toward those who he said "failed to take measures that could have prevented this painful incident". In a message on his Twitter account, the monarch said that "the pain of each father, mother and family is my pain".

The trade by the Texans is a huge move for their offense and after losing standout Will Fuller following his ACL tear in Week 8 against the Miami Dolphins.

Thomas has played his entire nine-year career with the Broncos. The four-time Pro Bowl player has caught 60 touchdown passes in 125 career games.

Thomas also is a relatively affordable gamble for Houston.

With a tough game at the Denver Broncos coming up this Sunday they have been dealt some good news. If he does not prove worthy of the $17.5 million cap charge he will cost in 2019, the final season of the five-year deal he signed with Denver in 2015, the Texans can cut him before June 1, in which case he would cost only $3.5 million in dead cap charges. It's a no-brainer for the books.
