NBC cancels Megyn Kelly's morning show

Megyn Kelly poses for a portrait in New York

Megyn Kelly, the former Fox News Channel personality who made a rocky transition to softer news at NBC, was sacked from her morning show today after triggering a furor by suggesting it was OK for white people to wear blackface at Halloween.

"I defended the idea saying as long as it was respectful and part of a Halloween costume it seemed okay".

The network on Friday again aired a repeat of "Megyn Kelly Today" just as it did Thursday following this week's controversy. Two people told The Washington Post that Megyn Kelly Today executive producer Jackie Levin was heard sobbing in an NBC office on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018 - the day Kelly remarked about using blackface. "Well, I was wrong and I am sorry", she said. When Hall learned she was being ousted in 2017 by Kelly, she exited her 9 a.m. slot without a formal farewell.

She made news when interviewing women who accused President Donald Trump of inappropriate behavior and spoke with accusers of Harvey Weinstein, Bill O'Reilly, Roy Moore and others, as well as women who say they were harassed on Capitol Hill.

News and Megyn Kelly are in talks about the anchor leaving the network.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek Starts - Chelsea Team vs BATE Confirmed
I have not experienced it here and I don't know the outcome . "I need the cooperation of the players of course". "We're trying to solve the problem for Sunday".

Stelter appeared on CNN's "New Day" where he and the show's co-hosts discussed the backlash Kelly has received from NBC for comments she made about "blackface" on her show this week.

On Wednesday, she opened her live show with a mea culpa. A source revealed to People that the network had been reassigning Megyn Kelly Today workers to other roles.

Kelly has also not commented on her contract or possible break with NBC publicly.

Kelly's newly-hired attorney Bryan Freedman reacted to Friday's NBC announcement with a statement of his own.

"Listen, only NBC executives know exactly why Megyn was let go so I'm not going to speculate on the reason", the CBS This Morning host, 63, expressed. "There's the question of the faith and confidence of the public in the reporting of NBC on matters involving itself", she stated at the time.
