When Novak Djokovic can overtake Rafael Nadal as world No.1

Coric stuns Federer in Shanghai, faces Djokovic in final

Friday's four favourites triumphed - an outcome which was around a [3.50] shot based on the prices available at the time of yesterday's preview, and I certainly don't see any reason to adapt my point of view that the matches were accurately priced by the market.

Federer takes to the court second on Saturday's schedule, which has a more pleasant feel to it from a start time perspective, with this starting at 1pm United Kingdom time, after Alexander Zverev versus Novak Djokovic, which begins at 930am.

The first set went with serve, and some big serves at that until Djokovic grabbed the break to go 4-2 up.

Djokovic's win over Zverev and Federer's demise guaranteed Djokovic will move up from No 3 to No 2 in the world on Monday, which has him swapping positions with Federer, but still trailing Rafael Nadal.

He's is on a 17-match winning streak and is 26-1 in matches played since the start of Wimbledon.

Roger Federer admitted that he was lacking the "punch" of 13th-seeded Borna Coric after the Swiss great was turfed out of the Shanghai Masters semi-finals on Saturday.

He had lost his only previous meeting with Zverev, in the 2017 Internazionali d'Italia final, and faced early pressure on Saturday as the youngster started strongly.

"And where I was about four months ago and where I am today is quite an extreme opposite".

Hurricane Michael crushes Georgia, heads toward Carolinas
The hurricane made landfall near Mexico Beach, Florida, at around 2pm on Wednesday, according to the NHC. By early Thursday, the ferocious storm's winds had slowed to 50 miles per hour as it crossed Georgia.

Djokovic, who endured a turbulent last season with injury and off-court issues, said they were "both different players" now.

But he put Nishikori under the cosh immediately, breaking the eighth seed in the first game of both sets, though the Japanese did well to recover and force a second-set tie break.

The top seed said he lacked "punch on the ball" but felt "explosive" on court, though he said he could have improved his serves.

Federer netted another backhand to concede a 4-2 deficit before Coric secured the first set with a ruthless sequence of serves. "It's going to be definitely a close match".

But he had fulsome praise for Djokovic, saying: "He's probably the best player in the world right now". Coric, world-ranked 19th, will face one of his toughest tests of the season against Djokovic in Sunday's showpiece.

Zverev, now under the tutelage of Ivan Lendl, said he is pleased with his overall progress, even if a maiden Grand Slam remains elusive.

"Last year was the first time I kind of broke through to the top 10 and was a top-five player".

'You are always trying to stay centered and balanced.
