WH revises guidance to Federal Bureau of Investigation on Kavanaugh probe

President Trump has highly critical of former FBI Director James Comey's handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails and the Russia probe

Speaking to a very friendly crowd of politically savvy New Hampshire residents at St. Anslem college, the Arizona senator said he planned to wait until after the FBI came back with its updated background investigation to decide about voting up or down for Kavanaugh's confirmation.

"The White House counsel has allowed the Senate to dictate what these terms look like and what the scope of the investigation is", she said on "Fox News Sunday".

"Dr. Ford demonstrated tremendous bravery in her testimony yesterday", the Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault said in a statement.

The three allegations of sexual misconduct date to the 1980s. Kavanaugh has also denied her accusations as well as those of two other women, while accusing Democrats of a political "hit".

President Donald Trump said on Monday he has given the FBI free rein to interview any witnesses it deems necessary for a comprehensive investigation of sexual misconduct allegations against Brett Kavanaugh, his U.S. Supreme Court nominee.

The president's eldest son is saying the fallout from the sexual misconduct claims against Judge Brett Kavanaugh has him more anxious about his sons than his daughters.

"In recent days I have become deeply troubled by what has been a blatant mischaracterization by Brett himself of his drinking at Yale", Ludington wrote. He has also denied an accusation from Deborah Ramirez, a classmate at Yale, who said he exposed himself to her at a dorm party more than 25 years ago. "I never saw Brett act in the manner Dr. Ford describes". He also says Kavanaugh was often belligerent and aggressive when drunk. The panel voted Friday, along party lines, to send the nomination to the full Senate, and Flake then offered his proposal for the FBI investigation.

Kavanaugh and Ford appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee last week, where they answered questions about the allegations.

Carl Tobias, a law professor at the University of Richmond, said it would not be unlawful for the White House to restrict the investigation's scope because the FBI is under the executive branch.

Third woman presents allegations against Kavanaugh
Since Ford has come forth with her accusations against Kavanaugh , two other women have bravely stood up and told their stories. Two additional women have come forward with accusations against Kavanaugh, Deborah Ramirez and Julie Swetnick .

"There are multiple allegations now in front of the committee, and I think it is not hard to figure out the universe of witnesses", said Christopher A. Coons (D-Del.), one of the senators who brokered a last-minute deal that led to the FBI investigation.

Trump on Friday had ordered the new FBI investigation into sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh, as the Senate delayed a final vote on his confirmation as the key ninth member of the Supreme Court. I would be a hypocrite to think so. The FBI is now investigating the claims against Kavanaugh before his nomination is brought to a vote.

Over the weekend, Democrats expressed concern about the limits of the investigation, suggesting the White House could be improperly interfering.

The White House did not respond immediately to a request for comment.

Senate Republicans compiled the list of four witnesses and Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell shared it with the White House, the official and another source familiar with the matter told Reuters.

When asked whether he thought a limited investigation would be enough to satisfy hold out Republican votes, McConnell replied, "We've asked them what they need, and this is what they have said".

" 'She has agreed to cooperate with their investigation, ' Ramirez attorney John Clune said in a statement".

Rachel Mitchell issued a five-page report in which she said Christine Blasey Ford's accusation that Kavanaugh assaulted her at a small, suburban house party in 1982 normally would be "incredibly hard to prove".

On Monday, Durbin announced that the 10 biggest hospitals in Chicago have teamed up to set goals to reduce gun violence.
